It is a pleasure to introduce one of Hawaii's voices, Keith Nakaganeku, who turned a few heads as the 1st runner-up in the 8th Annual Frank B. Shaner Falsetto Contest. Supported by Calabash, a talented group of musicians in their own right, Keith's soaring falsetto is only one of a number of suprises listeners will discover with his introductory CD. Keith brings new life to traditional "Japanese and Okinawan" songs with the innovative use of unusual instrumentation such as the sanshin (Okinawan shamisen) and Ichi Go Ichi E (a Japanese lute) and arrangements that instantly stamp these songs with Keith's distinctive sound. What do Green Rose Hula, Blue Darlin' and In this Life have in common? A talented new voice in Hawaii's music scene that is sure to be heard on the airwaves for a long time to come.
